ABOUT THE ARTIST

Nathan Simpson Moody grew up in Maine and received a BFA in Art (focus in Illustration) with honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992. He turned out the way he has despite the best efforts of friends and family.

His career has been varied and complex. Besides being an illustrator at heart, he has been a video editor and broadcast designer, sound designer, motion picture special effects artist , Web designer/developer, software interaction designer, and has even found time to write a couple of books and be involved with product development for Adobe Systems, Macromedia, and Microsoft.

All these factors, along with unhealthy interests in social and art history, science, technology, film criticism, and games, have sculpted him into a creative professional whose work is research-fueled, concept-driven, and style-agnostic.

He wears pants when he needs to and ritually burned all his patterned ties at age 17. He only wears his super-cape when he mows the lawn. Above all else, he admires pirates, zombies, and monkeys.
